Windows Embedded Handheld and Motorola ES400 unveiled

A few days ago Microsoft launched a Windows Embedded Handheld Platform, which is developed for handheld enterprise devices. The first handheld which will use the new platform will be the Motorola ES400.

This platform is “Microsoft’s newborn is expected to boost productivity of enterprise customers by offering them management and security functionality as well as an extended application support life cycle. With the help of Windows Embedded Handheld powered devices users will always and everywhere be able to capture, access and act on information.(more)”

The Motorola ES400 can be consider as a tough phone. It survive through rain, high and low temperatures, numerous drops on a vinyl covered concrete.

The device support CDMA and GSM networks. The Motorola’s EDA feature Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Professional and a 3-inch resistive touchscreen of VGA resolution. It hold a power of a 600MHz processor, settle with 256MB of RAM and some 1GB of ROM memory, some more space is available for a microSDHC card slot.

Other spec from the Motorola ES400 include HSDPA, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g) and Bluetooth host a built-in GPS receiver. Dont for get about its 3-megapixel autofocus snapper with LED flash which is capable of scanning bar codes.

Unfortunately there is no word on the price, but is expected to start selling later this year at Sprint and other Motorola partners
