Samsung Series 5 Chromebook Hit Europe Today

Samsung Electronics has decided to launch their very first Chromebook, the Series 5 in Europe today. The Samsung series 5 comes with Chrome OS and will be available in six countries: the UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain and Italy. The netbook feature a full-size keyboard and sport a 12.1-inch (1280 x 800) display. The system comes with a 1.66 GHz Atom N570 dual-core CPU which provide high performance, for web browsing, mulitmedia along with clear images and videos.

The system comes with 2GB of RAM, an mSATA 16GB SSD and a 4-in-1 card reader. It is equipped with a HD webcam, will run on Chrome OS and power coming from a 6-cell battery allowing for up to 8.5 hours of operation. The Samsung Series 5 Chromebook is available in two model, the WiFi-only Series 5 Chromebook will sell for €399 (£349 in the UK), while the WiFi and 3G-equipped model will cost €449 (£399).
