Samsung as part of its MWC launches said it would release the first ever netbook with built-in 4G using Long Term Evolution (LTE). The technology gives the 10-inch portable Samsung’s own self-developed 4G chipset, Kalmia, and delivers peak download speeds of up to 100Mbps. The PC doesn’t lose any of its initial specs, including the 1.66GHz Pine Trail-era Atom, 1GB of RAM, up to a 250GB drive and 8.5-hour battery (albeit with 4G off).

The upgraded N150 is intended as a production system but says releases will depend on the rollouts of 4G networks around the world. Some of the earliest LTE should be available in the US, where Verizon will launch it later this year, as well as similar plans from Bell and Telus in Canada.
