Samsung 830 Series Consumer-oriented SSDs
Samsung latest solid state drive, the 830 Series, has just been revealed. The 830 Series have a smooth brushed metal enclosure, a 2.5-inch form factor and feature a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface. This latest SSD comes in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities. Although Samsung haven’t mention the performance read/write speed, it may offer read/write speeds of 500/350 MB/s.
The 830 Series solid state drives are aimed for the consumer market and will be sold as standalone products and as part of SSD upgrade bundles that also contain a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch bracket, power and data cables, instructions on how to swap drives, and a CD with Norton Ghost to help transfer data from an old HDD/SSD.
The released date for the Samsung 830 Series is set for October 2011. Pricing info will be announced in same month October.
