Digicel Jamaica to get Android Motorola MILESTONE
Digicel Jamaica’s largest mobile carrier, will be launching the Motorola Milestone. The MILESTONE can be consider as Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC). The key feature and specs of the Motorola MILESTONES include
Audio: AMR-NB/WB, MP3, PCW/WAV, AAC+ eAAC+, for video and playback, the device have MPEG-4 H263, H264 and WMV. You have a lot of memory you can use, 250MB end user and comes with microSD that hold up to 32GB. The MILESTONE will indeed run on Android OS very much user friendly. You well indeed have 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity along with USB 2.0 port. A 5MP camera with auto-focus, dual LED Flash is included.
The device support a Touch, full QWERTY side slider and other features messaging, web and apps along with GPS, and google maps.
With the Motorola MILESTONE, browsing is not the same, you can browser the web faster with over 400,000 pixels and have a WVGA display with blazing-fast processor along with flash upgrade capability. The MILESTONE is amazing with DVD-quality video recorder along with the technology to share your photos and video.
You will be able to view any web pages such as social network, youtube, watch videos and more (depending on network speed) just as how you would see it on a PC screen

With many success of Google and Android in this year, I think there are many more Android handset will launching soon and also we will have Android tablet which can help your work complete very well. Most of Android handset now getting Android 2.2 but there are still some handset have not. But I think it will soon, no long more.

What about a data plan for this data hungry device? How is Digicel gonna support this phone with its slow 2G network which can only support slower inferior devices like Blackberries?
Not sure how to answer that question, nor give any detail on packages that is coming up for this device: mobile internet device(MID). More info will be provided soon..
As someone who tested one of these phones, i can tell you that this is the only device that would tempt me to part with my beloved blackberry. Has great features, sound and video quality, browsing experience…i could go on and on. I would definately recommend this phone to anyone, and i’m no Motorola lover, so that’s really saying something.
