Acer Preps 0.87-thin TravelMate Timeline 8481T Laptop

Acer has just announced their Ultra-thin TravelMate Timeline 8481T Laptop for both Business professionals and regular users. The Acer TravelMate Timeline 8481T features a 0.87-inch profile and sport a 14-inch screen, and a 13.3-inch form factor LED-backlit display (1366 x 768 resolution).

The Acer TravelMate Timeline 8481T is design with a magnesium-aluminum case and metal-alloy hinges. It feature the fast 2nd generation Core i5 processor and Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics. The system is pack with 4GB of RAM, up to a 320GB (7200 RPM) hard drive. The machine is equipped with a fingerprint reader, WiDi (Wireless Display) support along with a webcam.

The TravelMate Timeline 8481T also support Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth and an USB 3.0 port plus a an 8-cell battery allowing for up to 13 hours of operation. The battery is a PowerSmart model which provides up to three times longer battery life cycles than traditional batteries (1,000 vs. 300 cycles) and can maintain 80 % capacity after the 1,000 cycle count.

The TravelMate Timeline 8481T will cost just $999 and go on sale in the US and Canada first
