Acer Iconia Tab W500 and A500 tablets Set For A April 8 In Europe
Coming next month April 8, 2011, Acer will be releasing their Windows 7 and Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb tablet in Europe, the W500 (runs Windows 7) and A500 (Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb) (Acer Iconia Tab W500 and A500 tablets). Both tablet comes with a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800) LED-backlit touchscreen and runs on two different platforms. As for the W500 windows based tablet, will be powered by AMD’s Brazos solution, while the A500 Android 3.0 will be use Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-chip) from Nvidia.
The Iconia Tab W500 comes pack with a 1.0 GHz C-50 APU (with Radeon HD 6250 graphics), a G-sensor and an SD card reader. 2GB of RAM, 32GB solid state drive, along with 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and a HDMI output is supported plus with a 3-cell battery and pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium and will cost £449.
A 3G-equipped version of the W500 with a price tag, £529 as well as a WiFi-only W500 bundled with a keyboard dock (which includes an Ethernet port and dual USB 2.0 connectors). The 3G and WiFi W500, plus the keyboard dock, will cost you just about £579.
As for the A500 android 3.0 honeycomb, feature 1GB of RAM, 32GB of flash storage, a microSD card slot with the support 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Blueeooth and a HDMI output. It is also equipped with rear-facing 5 megapixel camera, a front 2MP camera, USB port and get power from a 3260 mAh battery, with a cost of £449.
